For reservists
Never forget the morning report again.
Every morning tzav8 signs in to the reserve-duty site on your own account and files your presence report — בשמ"פ, then ביחידה. After every run you get an email telling you exactly what happened: success or failure.

How it works
Three steps up front, then it runs on its own.
Sign in and enter your ID number
Sign in with Google or Facebook and enter your Israeli ID number (תעודת זהות). It is encrypted in your browser before it is sent anywhere, and it is only ever stored encrypted.
Connect the one-time code
The reserve-duty site signs you in with a one-time code by email. You get your own dedicated tzav8 email address, and set up a rule in your mailbox that forwards those code emails to it. There is a step-by-step guide, and we verify together that the forward actually works.
Choose how long — and that is it
A date range, or "until further notice". From then on tzav8 files the report for you each morning and emails you about every single one.
What happens, and what definitely does not
It never cancels a report
The automation selects בשמ"פ and then ביחידה, and nothing else. It never touches the option that cancels a presence report (לא בשמ"פ) — under any circumstances.
No confirmation means failure
If the report is not confirmed, it is counted as a failure and you are told so. It is never presented to you as a success.
The address disconnects itself
If anything other than the reserve-duty one-time code arrives at your dedicated address, the connection is cut automatically and you are notified. You can reconnect whenever you want.
Your ID number stays sealed
It is encrypted in your browser and stored encrypted. Only the automation component can decrypt it, for the moment it types it into the reserve-duty site. The operator of the service cannot read it.
How long it keeps reporting
You can set an exact date range, and reporting stops by itself at the end of it. You can also choose "until further notice" — then once a month you get an email with one question: still on duty? If you do not answer within 24 hours, reporting stops.
Please read
The duty to report stays yours. Always.
tzav8 is a convenience tool, not a replacement. The reserve-duty site can change or stop responding, the one-time code email can fail to arrive, the forwarding rule in your mailbox can break, and the service itself can go down. The obligation to file your presence report is yours alone — so check on the reserve-duty site itself, from time to time, that your report really was filed and really is correct.
