Account and Data Deletion
Last updated: 19 August 2026
You can delete your tzav8 (צו 8) account and everything stored about you at any time, without giving a reason and without asking permission. This page explains how to do it, exactly what gets deleted, and how long it takes.
Two ways to delete
1. In the app — immediate
- Sign in at tzav8.langerapp.com with the same Google or Facebook account you registered with.
- Open Account settings.
- Choose Delete account.
- Confirm.
Deletion happens immediately. There is no waiting period and no "account freeze" stage.
2. By email
If you cannot sign in, or you would rather ask in writing, email tzav8@langerapp.com from the address you registered with, with the subject "Delete my account".
- Do not include your ID number in the message — it is not needed to identify you, and there is no way for it to reach me in readable form.
- Requests are normally handled within one business day, and within 7 days at the latest. You will receive a confirmation email once the deletion is done.
What exactly gets deleted
Deleting your account removes all the information the service holds about you:
- Your name and email address received from Google or Facebook.
- Your encrypted ID number, together with the one-way hash used to prevent duplicate registrations.
- The email address associated with your reserve-duty account.
- Your reserve-duty dates and the schedule of automated reports — which stop immediately.
- The dedicated email address issued to you at
@tzav8.langerapp.com. It is decommissioned, and any mail sent to it from that point on is rejected. - The email metadata stored for that address (sender, timestamp, and classification).
- Your report attempt log — the full history of successes and failures.
- Your sign-in identity in the authentication system (AWS Cognito).
After deletion, nothing that identifies you remains.
Timeline
| What | When |
|---|---|
| Account, data, and scheduled reports | Immediately on confirming deletion |
| Your dedicated email address | Immediately — disconnected and stops accepting mail |
| Raw email messages | Automatically deleted within 7 days in any case |
| Backups and technical system logs | Within 30 days |
Backups and technical logs are cleared on an automatic rotation and are not routinely accessible. They serve no purpose other than recovery from a failure.
Two things worth doing afterwards
Account deletion only reaches inside the service. Two things are under your control, not mine:
- Remove the forwarding rule from your mailbox — the rule that forwards one-time password messages from
no-reply@otp.digital.idf.ilto the dedicated address. The address no longer exists, but it is tidier to clear it. - Revoke the app's permission in the account you signed in with:
- Google: myaccount.google.com/permissions
- Facebook: Settings → Settings & Privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites
And the important part
Once your account is deleted, the service stops reporting for you — and the duty to file your daily reserve-duty presence report is fully back with you. Make sure you submit it yourself on the reserve-duty site.
(For the avoidance of doubt: that responsibility was always yours. See the Terms of Service.)
Just want to stop, not delete?
You do not have to delete your account in order to stop the service. In settings you can simply stop the reports or disconnect your account, and your data stays in place in case you want to resume later. Deletion is final and irreversible — a deleted account cannot be restored.
