Terms of Service
Last updated: 19 August 2026
Before you start using tzav8 (צו 8), please read the three points below. They are not fine print — they are the main thing.
1. Your reporting obligation stays yours. Always.
Automation can fail. The reserve-duty site may change, be overloaded, or not respond; the one-time password email may not arrive; the forwarding rule in your mailbox may break; and the service itself may go down or be shut off.
The duty to file your reserve-duty presence report is yours alone, and it remains yours under all circumstances. tzav8 is a convenience tool, not a replacement for your responsibility. You must independently verify, on the reserve-duty site itself, that your daily report was actually submitted and is actually correct.
The operator is not liable for any consequence of a report that was missed, failed, was late, or was filed incorrectly — including any disciplinary, administrative, financial, or other outcome. You use the service entirely at your own risk.
2. No connection to the IDF whatsoever
tzav8 is a private, independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, approved by, or connected in any way to the IDF, the Israeli Ministry of Defense, the Manpower Directorate, the reserve-duty establishment, or the operators of miluim.idf.il. There is no partnership, agreement, or relationship of any kind between them and this service.
All trademarks, names, and logos belonging to those bodies remain the property of their owners, and any mention of them in the service is for identification only.
3. The service is free and provided as-is
The service is provided free of charge and "AS IS", with no warranty of any kind — express or implied — including, without limitation, any warranty of availability, continuity, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or correct operation. There is no uptime commitment, no guaranteed support, and no promise that the service will work at all.
4. What the service does
With your explicit authorisation and on your own account, tzav8 files your daily reserve-duty presence report on miluim.idf.il. By using the service you authorise the operator to sign in to that site on your behalf, using the details you provided, and to submit the report in your place.
You may revoke that authorisation at any time — by stopping your reports, disconnecting your account, or deleting it.
5. Rules of use
By using the service you undertake:
- To use it only for your own reserve-duty reporting, on your own account. You may not enter another person's ID number, email address, or account details, and you may not report on anyone else's behalf — even if they asked you to.
- To provide true and accurate details, and to update them when they change (for example, a change to your reserve-duty dates).
- Not to attempt to break into, disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the service or its infrastructure.
- Not to use the service for any unlawful purpose, including any attempt to report a presence that is not truthful. The service reports what you configured — the truthfulness of the report is your responsibility.
Breaking these rules may result in your account being blocked immediately and without prior notice.
6. What you need for the service to work
- An active Google or Facebook account to sign in with.
- An active reserve-duty site account, with an email address you control.
- A forwarding rule in your own mailbox that forwards the one-time password message to the dedicated address the service issued you.
The availability and correct operation of these components depend on you and your providers, and are not the operator's responsibility.
7. Suspension, changes, and shutdown
The operator may suspend, change, or discontinue the service — in whole or in part, for all users or for a single user — at any time, for any reason, and without prior notice. This is a personal project maintained in spare time, and it may be shut down.
Reasonable effort will be made to give advance notice of a planned shutdown, but this is not guaranteed. If it happens, responsibility for your daily reporting reverts entirely to you — as it always was, per section 1.
For your part, you may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. See Account and Data Deletion.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator shall not be liable for any damage — direct, indirect, special, consequential, or otherwise — caused to you or to any third party as a result of using the service, being unable to use it, a malfunction in it, its shutdown, or any report that was incorrect, incomplete, or not filed.
As the service is provided free of charge, no monetary remedy against the operator arises from it.
9. Privacy
Your use of the service is also governed by the Privacy Policy, which explains what data is collected, how your ID number is protected, and where data is stored (including storage in the United States).
10. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. The date at the top of the page reflects the most recent update, and you will be notified at your account email address of any material change. Continuing to use the service after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel. The competent courts of the Tel Aviv district shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any matter arising from them.
